Just as He Said

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene
and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down
from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.  His
appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know
that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen,
just as he said."
Matthew 28:1-6a

"The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders,
chief priests and teachers of the law, and He
must be killed and on the third day
be raised to life."
Luke 9:22

"Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted."
Matthew 5:4

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy.
Matthew 28:8

He Is Risen!
Have a blessed Easter!

On a Friday

"But He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,
and by His wounds we are healed."
Isaiah 53:5

Something to Take With You for the Weekend and More: A Song

I told myself when I started this blogging gig that I wasn't going to post on the weekends. But then Hubby came home and had this song for me to listen to. You may have heard it. I never had. It's not new, but I'm always a bit behind. Anyway, it's beautiful, everything about it--the words, the music, the harmony, the story. I couldn't keep it to myself. It just keeps singing in my head and I couldn't wait to share it. If you've heard it before, that's okay, just listen again.   Listen slow. And then play it again.
